In a large bowl, mix 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour, 1 tsp sugar, and 1 tsp salt. Add the yeast mixture and 2 tbsp olive oil, stirring until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 8–10 minutes until it’s smooth. Place the kneaded dough into a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  2. Cook the Filling:
    While the dough rises, heat a skillet over medium heat and cook 1 lb ground turkey bacon or chicken until browned. Drain any excess fat. Stir in 1 cup pizza sauce and simmer for about 5 minutes. Set aside.
  3. Assemble the Pizza Pie:
    Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the risen dough into a large circle and press it into a greased deep baking dish or springform pan, trimming any excess dough from the edges. Begin layering by adding 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese on the crust base, followed by the meat filling, ½ cup sliced mushrooms, and ½ cup sliced green bell peppers or jalapeños.
