  1. Prepare the bread mixture: Take 1 slice of stale white bread and soak it in 1/4 cup of milk for about 5 minutes. Once soaked, squeeze out any excess milk and crumble the bread into a bowl.
  2. Mix the ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the crumbled bread, 1 lb of ground beef, 1 small finely chopped onion, 1 minced garlic clove, 1 egg, 1 tsp mustard, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 1/2 tsp paprika, 1/2 tsp ground marjoram (if using), and 1 tbsp of chopped parsley. Mix the ingredients gently to ensure they are well combined but avoid overmixing to keep the patties tender.
  3. Shape the Frikadellen: Divide the mixture into 4 to 6 equal portions, then shape each portion into flat oval patties, approximately 1/2 inch thick. The thickness will ensure even cooking.
