Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, place the 1 lb. ground beef and 1 lb. ground hot sausage.
- Cook until browned and cooked through, breaking up the meat as it cooks (approximately 7–10 minutes).
- While the meat cooks, cut the 1 lb. Velveeta into cubes for easier melting.
- Once the meat is cooked, drain off the excess grease (leaving a little is okay).
- Add the 1 lb. Velveeta to the skillet, continuing to cook until melted and fully incorporated with the meat mixture (about 3–5 minutes).
- Stir in the 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon oregano, ½ teaspoon garlic salt, and ½ teaspoon salt until evenly combined.
- Preheat your broiler to high.
- On a lined baking sheet, arrange slices of 1 loaf party rye bread.
- Using a spoon, place a 2-tablespoon-sized scoop of the cheese and meat mixture onto each slice of rye bread.
- Broil the appetizers until hot and bubbly, approximately 2–3 minutes. Be sure to watch carefully to prevent burning! Alternatively, you can bake them in a preheated oven at 350°F for 15–18 minutes.
- If desired, sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
