- 2 slices of your choice of bread (white, whole wheat, or gluten-free)
- 1 ripe banana, sliced
- 2 slices of cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite melting cheese)
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter (or coconut oil for a dairy-free option)
Instructions
- Prepare the Bread: Lay your two slices of bread on a clean work surface. Spread 1/2 tablespoon of unsalted butter on one side of each slice. This will be the outer side that browns when cooked.
- Add the Cheese: Place 1 slice of cheese on the unbuttered side of one of the bread slices. Make sure to cover the surface evenly for the best melt!
- Add the Banana: Layer the sliced banana on top of the cheese. You want to ensure an even distribution for a perfect bite. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of honey over the banana slices for added sweetness.
- Top it Off: Place the second slice of cheese on top of the banana and finish with the other slice of bread, buttered side facing up.
- Grill: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the assembled sandwich in the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
- Flip and Finish: Using a spatula, carefully flip the sandwich over. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, pressing down slightly to encourage the cheese to melt. Cook until both sides are golden and the cheese is gooey.
