  • 500 gFresh Salmon (thinly sliced: Provides the main protein, adding freshness and color.)
  • 5 ml1 tsp each Black and White Sesame Seeds: Decorative and flavorful topping.
  • Extra Avocado to serve: Enhances presentation and adds more avocado goodness.
  • 125 ml½ cup Soy Sauce: Serves as a savory dipping sauce.
  • 60 ml¼ cup Finely Grated Fresh Ginger: Adds a spicy, aromatic kick to the sauce.

    Prepare the Sushi Rice: Follow the package instructions to soak, simmer, and steam the rice. Mix in a cooled vinegar and sugar solution for the perfect sushi rice texture.

    Layering the Cake: Line your baking tin with paper and a nori sheet. Spread half the rice, followed by avocado slices and salmon, creating distinct layers.

    Repeat the Layers: Add another nori sheet, the remaining rice, and layers of avocado and salmon to complete the assembly.

    Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the cake until firm. To serve, invert the cake onto a platter, garnish with sesame seeds, and accompany with soy sauce mixed with ginger.
