Ingredients

  • 14 ouncescaramels (about 50 wrapped Kraft caramels - These provide the sweet, rich flavor that envelops the marshmallows.)
  • 14 ouncessweetened condensed milk - This adds creaminess and helps the caramel mixture adhere to the marshmallows.
  • 2 Tablespoonsbutter - Used for melting with the caramels (adding richness to the flavor.)
  • 12 ouncesmarshmallows (large - The main component, providing that iconic chewy texture.)
  • 7 cupsRice Krispies Cereal - The crunchy element that gives the balls their structure and texture.

Instructions

  1. 1

Unwrap the caramels. In a medium saucepan, place the caramels, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Over medium heat, stir constantly until smooth and creamy.

  2. 2

Using a toothpick or skewer, dip each marshmallow into the caramel mixture. Tap off the excess to avoid a gooey mess.

  3. 3

Pour the Rice Krispies into a big bowl and then gently roll the caramel-covered marshmallow in the Rice Krispies until fully coated.

  4. 4

Place on a cookie sheet that has been lined with parchment paper and gently pull out the toothpick or skewer from the marshmallow.

  5. 5

Let the rice krispie balls set up for about 30 minutes at room temperature to firm up.
