Preview of Gourmet Cheddar Ranch Chicken Sliders

Ingredients

  • 1 lbground chicken: The base of our sliders (ground chicken provides a lean protein option while remaining juicy when cooked. This ingredient can also be substituted with ground turkey for a flavorful alternative.)
  • 1 cupcrushed Oreo cookies (filling removed: This unique ingredient brings an unexpected sweet crunch that balances the savory elements in the sliders. Ensure they are finely crushed for the best texture.)
  • 1 cupshredded cheddar cheese: A classic choice that melts beautifully (adding creaminess and enhancing the flavor of the chicken. You can use sharp cheddar for a more robust flavor or opt for a mild variety.)
  • 1/2 cupranch dressing: This dressing introduces a herby (tangy element that pairs perfectly with the chicken and Oreos, enhancing the overall flavor.)
  • 1/2 cuppanko breadcrumbs: Essential for adding texture (these breadcrumbs create a crispy exterior on the patties while keeping the insides moist.)
  • 1/4 cupgreen onions (finely chopped: These add freshness and vibrant color to the dish, enriching the flavor profile.)
  • 1 tspgarlic powder and 1 tsp onion powder: These seasonings deepen the flavor (making the sliders aromatic and delicious.)
  • Salt and pepper to taste: Essential for enhancing the natural flavors and ensuring a well-seasoned slider.
  • 4hamburger buns: The vessel for our slider (choose your favorite type of bun; whole wheat or brioche would work well.)
  • Lettuce (tomato slices, and pickles: These garnishes add freshness, texture, and acidity, balancing the richness of the sliders.)

Instructions

  1. 1

Mix the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 lb ground chicken, 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies, 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup ranch dressing, 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, salt, and pepper. Use your hands or a spatula to blend everything until evenly combined.

  2. 2

Form the Patties: Once mixed, portion the mixture into four equal parts and shape each into a patty. Aim for a thickness of about 1 inch for even cooking.

  3. 3

Cook the Chicken Patties: Heat a skillet or grill over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F.

  4. 4

Toast the Buns: While the patties are cooking, place the hamburger buns in the skillet for 1-2 minutes or until lightly browned and warm.

  5. 5

Assemble the Sliders: Once cooked, place each chicken patty on the bottom bun. Top with lettuce, a slice of tomato, and pickles. Close the slider with the top bun.

  6. 6

Serve: Serve the sliders hot, perhaps alongside crispy fries or a fresh salad to complement the meal.
