Ingredients

  • 4 slicesnectarines (fresh)
  • 1/4 cupapple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cuptomato paste
  • 2 tbspbrown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbspWorcestershire sauce
  • 2 tspgarlic (minced)
  • 1/4 tsphot sauce
  • 1 tsporange peel (Julienne cut)
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

Begin by peeling and pitting the nectarines. Dice them into small pieces.

  2. 2

In a medium saucepan, combine the diced nectarines, tomato paste, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar.

  3. 3

Stir well to mix the ingredients thoroughly.

  4. 4

Add the minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, finely grated orange peel, hot sauce, salt and black pepper to the pan.

  5. 5

Stir to combine all the ingredients evenly.

  6. 6

Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally.

  7. 7

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 30 minutes.

  8. 8

After 30 minutes, the nectarines should be soft and the sauce thickened. Remove the saucepan from the heat.

  9. 9

Using an immersion blender, blend the sauce until smooth.

  10. 10

Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary.

  11. 11

Let the sauce cool to room temperature, then transfer it to a clean jar or bottle.
