  • Salt and pepper - Basic seasoning to enhance the turkey’s natural flavor.
  • 2 tbspolive oil - Used for searing the turkey and adding richness to the dish.
  • ½ cupfresh orange juice (from approximately 2 oranges - Provides the primary citrus flavor.)
  • ¼ cuphoney - Adds sweetness and helps create a beautiful glaze.
  • 2minced garlic cloves - Infuses the dish with depth and aromatic qualities.
  • 1 tbsporange zest - Elevates the citrus flavor with a concentrated burst.
  • 1 tspcornstarch + 1 tbsp water (optional - Used to thicken the glaze if desired.)

Instructions

  1. 1

Prep the Turkey: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). While the oven is heating, season the 4 turkey breast fillets (6 oz each) with salt and pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

Sear: In an oven-safe skillet, heat 2 tbsp olive oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, place the turkey fillets skin-side up in the skillet. Sear for 3-4 minutes until golden brown, then flip the fillets and sear for another 2 minutes.

  3. 3

Make the Glaze: In a separate saucepan, combine ½ cup fresh orange juice, ¼ cup honey, 2 minced garlic cloves, and 1 tbsp orange zest. Bring this mixture to a simmer over medium heat and let it cook for 5 minutes. If a thicker glaze is preferred, add 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water at this stage and stir until smooth.

  4. 4

Glaze: Pour the sweet and tangy glaze over the seared turkey fillets in the skillet, ensuring even coverage.

  5. 5

Bake: Transfer the skillet to your preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the turkey is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Let it rest for a couple of minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.
