Description

Enjoy easy pumpkin donut holes made with warm spices and coated in cinnamon sugar—a perfect fall treat for breakfast or snacks

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Extra sugar and cinnamon for coating

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, sugar, vegetable oil, milk, egg, and vanilla. Mix until smooth and well-combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Be careful not to overmix; the mixture should be just combined.
  4. Preheat your air fryer or oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even cooking.
  5. Roll the dough into golf ball-sized portions. This ensures they cook evenly and retain a delightful round shape.
  6. Space the dough balls evenly in the air fryer basket or place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, ensuring space between each for even cooking.
  7. For the air fryer, cook the donut holes for 10-12 minutes. If using the oven, bake for 15-18 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and firm to touch.
  8. Meanwhile, mix some sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl for the coating.
  9. Allow the donut holes to cool slightly before rolling them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture for a sweet and spicy finish.
