  • 1/4 Cup Sesame Oil – This oil provides a nutty aroma that enhances the overall taste.
  • 1/2 Cup Dark Soy Sauce – Adds color and depth to the dish.
  • 1 Bottle Tony’s 30-Minute Seafood Marinade – This brings a wealth of flavor to the shrimp and crab.
  • Tony’s Original Creole Seasoning, to Taste – This classic seasoning will give your dish that authentic Creole touch.
  • 2 Tablespoons Tony’s Supreme Creole Crab Boil – This ingredient intensifies the seafood flavor.
  • 3 Tablespoons Cooking Oil – For stir-frying the vegetables and proteins.
  • Pot of Boiling Water – For cooking the noodles.
  • Ice Bath – Stops the cooking process of the noodles and helps maintain their texture.

Instructions

  1. Marinate the seafood:
In a bowl, combine 1 pound of peeled and deveined shrimp and 5-10 imitation crab sticks with the Tony’s 30-Minute Seafood Marinade. Allow this to marinate for at least 30 minutes, letting all those robust flavors seep in.
  2. Prep the vegetables:
While the seafood marinates, slice 1 carrot into thin rounds, slice 1 onion, and chop 2 bell peppers. Set aside, along with 1 bunch of chopped green onions.
  3. Prepare the sauce:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups of warm water, 1/2 cup oyster sauce (or sugar), 1/4 cup sesame oil, 1/2 cup dark soy sauce, and 2 tablespoons Tony’s Supreme Creole Crab Boil until well combined. This will serve as the flavorful sauce for your dish.
  4. Cook the chow mein noodles:
Boil the chow mein noodles in a pot of boiling water for 1-3 minutes until they’re tender yet firm. Quickly transfer them to an ice bath to stop the cooking process and maintain their texture. Drain well before use.
  5. Stir-fry the vegetables:
In a hot wok or large skillet, heat 3 tablespoons of cooking oil. Add the prepared vegetables and stir-fry until they are soft, which should take about 3-5 minutes. Don’t forget to season with Tony’s Original Creole Seasoning according to your taste preferences.
  6. Add the seafood:
Toss in the marinated shrimp and imitation crab. Stir-fry until they are cooked through, approximately 3-4 minutes, or until the shrimp turns opaque.
  7. Combine everything:
Add the drained chow mein noodles to the wok along with the prepared sauce. Mix everything thoroughly, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat all the ingredients, about 5-10 minutes over medium heat.
  8. Serve:
Once everything is well combined and heated through, remove from heat. Plate your vibrant Creole Chow Mein and enjoy the bold flavors!
