Description

Enjoy a flavorful Savory Onion and Egg Mushroom Wrap with tender mushrooms, caramelized onions, and rich eggs, all wrapped in a warm tortilla with melted mozzarella.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tbsp butter: Adds richness and a creamy flavor while sautéing the onions and mushrooms, contributing to the overall taste profile.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil: A healthier fat choice that enhances the sautéing process while providing antioxidants and a slight fruity flavor.
  • 3 mushrooms, sliced: Fresh mushrooms introduce an earthy flavor and meaty texture, making them the star of the dish.
  • 1 small onion, julienned: Caramelizes beautifully, adding sweetness and depth to the flavors, while its aroma sets a comforting mood.
  • Salt and black pepper to taste: Essential seasonings that enhance all the existing flavors, making each bite more enjoyable.
  • 2 beaten eggs: A source of protein that brings the wrap together, adding a velvety texture when cooked.
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped: This garnishing herb adds freshness and a burst of color, elevating the visual appeal.
  • 50g mozzarella, grated: Melts beautifully, lending creaminess and a rich, cheesy flavor that takes the wrap from good to exceptional.
  • 1 tortilla wrap: The vehicle that holds all the delicious fillings, providing the necessary carbs to satisfy your hunger.

Instructions

  1. Heat the butter and olive oil: In a medium-sized pan, combine 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of olive oil over low heat. Allow them to melt together, creating a rich base.
  2. Add onions and mushrooms: Toss in the julienned onion and sliced mushrooms. Cover the pan and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are soft and lightly caramelized.
  3. Season the mixture: Generously season with salt and black pepper to taste, enhancing the natural flavors of the vegetables.
  4. Add the eggs: Pour 2 beaten eggs evenly over the sautéed mixture, then sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of freshly chopped parsley.
  5. Prepare the tortilla: Place 1 tortilla wrap on top of the egg and vegetable mixture. Cover the pan to allow the eggs to set, cooking for approximately 3-4 minutes.
  6. Flip the wrap: Once the eggs are set, carefully flip the entire wrap over so that the tortilla is now on the bottom.
  7. Add mozzarella: Sprinkle 50g of grated mozzarella cheese on top of the tortilla, along with a bit more chopped parsley if desired. Fold the wrap in half and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted and gooey.
  8. Serve and enjoy: Slide the warm wrap onto a plate, slice it in half if you prefer, and savor each delicious bite!
