Easy Cinnamon Sugar Cruffins

For Puff Pastry Cruffins:
  • 2 sheets of frozen puff pastry thawed: Provides the flaky layers.
  • 3-4 tbsp butter room temperature: Adds richness and helps cinnamon-sugar adhere.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar: Sweetens the cruffins.
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon: Adds flavor and warmth.
For Crescent Roll Dough Cruffins:
  • 2 tubes of crescent roll dough: Offers a denser texture.
  • 3-4 tbsp butter room temperature: Enhances flavor and texture.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar: Sweetens the cruffins.
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon: Infuses the cruffins with warmth.

Method
 

Puff Pastry Cruffins:
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Lightly grease 8 muffin tin wells.
  3. Roll out puff pastry sheets to 11x15 inches.
  4. Spread butter on the sheets.
  5. Mix cinnamon and sugar; sprinkle over butter.
  6. Roll dough tightly into logs.
  7. Cut logs in half, then lengthwise.
  8. Wrap pieces around fingers, layered side out.
  9. Place in muffin tin, bake for 30-35 minutes.
  10. Remove, roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture, and cool.
Crescent Roll Dough Cruffins:
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Lightly grease 8 muffin tin wells.
  3. Roll out crescent dough to larger rectangles.
  4. Spread butter on the sheets.
  5. Mix cinnamon and sugar; sprinkle over butter.
  6. Roll dough into logs.
  7. Cut logs in half, then lengthwise.
  8. Wrap pieces around fingers, layered side out.
  9. Place in muffin tin, bake for 15 minutes.
  10. Remove, roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture, and cool.

Notes

  • Oven: Reheat at 350°F for 5-10 minutes for a crisp exterior.
  • Microwave: Briefly reheat for 15-20 seconds, but note the texture may not be as crisp.
