  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce: This umami-rich sauce adds depth and saltiness to the dish. For a gluten-free option use tamari.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil: Adds a nutty flavor that complements the fish and enhances the overall dish.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger minced: Ginger brings warmth and spice, playing a crucial role in flavoring the fish.
  • 4 green onions sliced: Adds a fresh crunch and vibrant color to the dish, contributing both flavor and nutrition.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil: Used for stir-frying this oil has a high smoke point and neutral flavor.

Method
 

  1. Prepare the marinade: In a bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, and 1 tablespoon of minced ginger. Whisk until well blended.
  2. Marinate the fish: Place the 4 sea bass fillets in the marinade, ensuring they are evenly coated. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  3. Heat the oil: In a large skillet or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Add the green onions: Sauté the sliced green onions for about 1 minute until they start to soften and become fragrant.
  5. Cook the sea bass: Carefully add the marinated sea bass fillets to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and is golden brown on the edges.
  6. Season to taste: Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste during the cooking process, adjusting based on your preference.
  7. Serve immediately: Once cooked, remove the fillets from the skillet, and garnish with any remaining sliced green onions. Serve hot with a side of steamed rice or stir-fried vegetables for a complete meal.
