Hearty and Delicious Ultimate Poolside Sandwich

A hearty, delicious sandwich packed with layers of flavor, perfect for poolside snacking or any gathering. Easy, satisfying, and flavorful.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 large ciabatta halved: This high-quality bread is crusty on the outside and soft on the inside, offering the perfect foundation for your sandwich.
  • 1/4 cup mayo: Adds creaminess and moisture to the sandwich preventing it from feeling dry.
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard: Provides a zesty kick that complements the meats and balances the richness of the mayo.
  • 4 slices provolone: A mild melty cheese that brings a creamy element to the sandwich.
  • 8 oz deli-sliced turkey breast: Lean protein that adds flavor without being overly fatty.
  • 8 oz deli-sliced chicken: Another layer of protein adding depth to the sandwich’s flavor profile.
  • 8 slices cooked turkey bacon: Adds a crispy texture and additional savory flavor. You could also opt for chicken bacon if you prefer.
  • 1 large tomato sliced: Freshness and juiciness are provided by the tomatoes, brightening the overall flavor.
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce: Adds crunch and a refreshing contrast to the meats and creamy elements.
  • 1/2 red onion thinly sliced: Delivers a sharp bite that enhances the sandwich’s flavor complexity.
  • Salt & pepper to taste: Essential for elevating the dish’s overall flavor.

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spread the mayo: Take the bottom half of the ciabatta and spread 1/4 cup of mayo evenly across it.
  3. Add Dijon mustard: On the top half of the ciabatta, spread 1/4 cup of Dijon mustard.
  4. Layer the provolone: Place 4 slices of provolone cheese on the mayo-covered bottom half of the ciabatta.
  5. Add the meats: Layer 8 oz of deli-sliced turkey breast followed by 8 oz of deli-sliced chicken on top of the provolone.
  6. Crisp up the bacon: Lay down 8 slices of cooked turkey bacon on top of the meats for extra crunch and flavor.
  7. Add vegetables: Top the sandwich with sliced tomato, shredded lettuce, and thinly sliced red onion. Sprinkle with salt and pepper according to your taste.
  8. Cover with the top ciabatta half: Gently place the top half of the ciabatta over the fillings.
  9. Wrap and bake: Wrap the entire sandwich in foil and place it in the oven. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the sandwich is heated through.
