Parmesan and Mozzarella Cheese Bites

  • Grated Parmesan 1 cup: This hard cheese delivers a sharp, salty punch that enhances the overall flavor. It provides a superior texture and structure to the bites.
  • Shredded Mozzarella 1 cup: Known for its melting qualities, Mozzarella adds creaminess and a delightful stretch that makes each bite indulgent.

  • Onion Powder 1 tsp: This adds a subtle sweetness and depth of flavor. It enhances the savory nature of the cheese without overpowering it.

Notes

  1. Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). This high temperature will help achieve the perfect crispy exterior.
  2. Prepare the Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it lightly with olive oil or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  3. Mix Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the grated Parmesan, shredded Mozzarella, egg, onion powder, garlic powder (if using), salt, and pepper. Use a fork or your hands to mix until everything is evenly combined.
  4. Form the Bites: Using your hands, scoop out portions of the mixture and shape them into 1-inch balls. Place each ball onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about an inch apart.
  5. Bake: Slide the baking sheet into your preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the bites turn a lovely golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  6. Cool and Serve: Once done, remove the baked cheese bites from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. This ensures they set nicely and are easy to handle.
