- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). This step ensures that your salmon cooks evenly and achieves a beautiful glaze.
In a small bowl, combine:
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon sriracha
- 4 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil.
- Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined into a cohesive sauce.
- Prepare the salmon: Season the 1 1/2 lb salmon with 2 teaspoons of salt and 1 teaspoon of freshly ground pepper on both sides.
- Pour the sauce over the seasoned salmon. Make sure each piece is coated well. Let this marinate for about 10 minutes—this step allows the salmon to absorb the flavors.
- Transfer salmon to a baking pan. Ensure it’s arranged in a single layer for even cooking. Cover the pan with foil to protect the fish during the initial cooking stage.
- Bake the salmon for 20 minutes. This gentle cooking will keep the fish moist. After 20 minutes, uncover the salmon and bake for an additional 5 minutes to achieve a nice caramelization.
