Taco Bell Beefy Melt Burrito

Taco Bell Beefy Melt Burrito: seasoned beef, creamy nacho cheese, rice, and optional sour cream in a warm tortilla. A flavorful and filling main dish.

Ingredients

  • Ground Beef 1 lb: The star of the Burrito, providing rich flavor and protein.
  • Refried Beans 1 cup: Adds creaminess and sustenance, making the burrito hearty.
  • Fritos 1 cup: Offers a satisfying crunch and enhances texture.
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese 1 cup: Provides gooeyness and richness, melting beautifully when heated.
  • Tortillas 4 large: The essential wrap for your ingredients, ensuring everything is held together.
  • Taco Seasoning 1 packet or 2 tablespoons homemade: Infuses the beef with robust flavors that define the dish.
  • Water 1/2 cup: Helps to achieve the right consistency for the beef mixture.
  • Chives or Green Onions optional, for garnish: Adds a fresher note to the dish.

Method

  1. Prepare the Beef Mixture: In a large skillet, add 1 lb of ground beef over medium heat. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add the Seasoning: Sprinkle in 1 packet of taco seasoning and mix in 1/2 cup of water. Stir well and let it simmer for another 5 minutes, or until the sauce thickens slightly.
  3. Warm the Beans: In a small saucepan, heat 1 cup of refried beans over low heat, stirring occasionally. This will take about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Prepare the Tortillas: While the beans heat up, warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for a few seconds to make them pliable.
  5. Assemble the Burritos: Lay a tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread 1/4 cup of warm refried beans down the center, followed by 1/4 of the beef mixture, and top with 1/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Add the Fritos: Sprinkle 1/4 cup of Fritos on top of the beef and cheese for that legendary crunch.
  7. Wrap It Up: Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll it from the bottom up, creating a burrito shape. Repeat for the remaining tortillas.
  8. Grill the Burritos (Optional): For an extra crispy exterior, place the wrapped burritos seam-side down on a hot skillet and grill for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
