Tropical Hibiscus Tea Pineapple Smoothie

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Brewed hibiscus tea cooled: Provides the base for the smoothie, adding tartness and a beautiful ruby color. Make sure the tea is brewed properly to maximize flavor.
  • 1 cup Fresh or frozen pineapple chunks: Adds sweetness and a tropical note. Using frozen pineapple can enhance the smoothie's texture and chill.
  • 1 cup Coconut water: A natural hydrator that lends a subtle sweetness and packed with electrolytes and nutrients.
  • Juice of 1 lime: Brightens the overall flavor and adds a refreshing zing to balance the sweetness of the pineapple.
  • Ice cubes: Helps to chill the smoothie and gives it a refreshing slushy consistency.
  • Optional: fresh sage or mint leaves for garnish: Adds a burst of herbal flavor and elegance to the presentation.

Method
 

  1. Brew the hibiscus tea: Start by boiling water in a pot. Use 2-3 hibiscus tea bags or loose hibiscus flowers, steep them in boiling water for 5-10 minutes. Once brewed, let it cool completely, and then chill it in the fridge.
  2. Blend the ingredients: Once your tea is cool and ready, take a blender and add the chilled hibiscus tea, 1 cup of fresh or frozen pineapple chunks, 1 cup of coconut water, the juice of 1 lime, and a handful of ice cubes.
  3. Blend until smooth: Blend all the ingredients together until you achieve a smooth and frothy consistency. Check the texture – it should be creamy and easily pourable.
  4. Taste and adjust: Pour a small amount into a glass to taste. If you want it sweeter, consider adding a bit more pineapple or lime juice to enhance the flavor.
